Giving
Every won my books earn is given away. So far: three gifts, 3,000,000 won, to people who needed it more than I did.
I think of life as a story that is still being written, and I want my story to be useful to someone. Writing is the thing I can do, so the money it makes is the thing I can give.
All of it goes through Korea Food for the Hungry International (희망친구 기아대책), where I am Kids Donor Club member No. 6. My parents handle the paperwork. I handle the deciding.

The three gifts

2023 · February
Türkiye earthquake relief
All of my pocket money, ₩1,000,000
Korea Food for the Hungry International (기아대책), Kids Donor Club No. 6
When the earthquake happened I was seven. I had been saving my pocket money for a long time, and I decided it should all go to the people who lost their homes.

2024
Nepal flood relief
Money from my first book, ₩1,000,000
Korea Food for the Hungry International, emergency relief
The money my book earned went to families in Nepal after the floods.

2025
Book proceeds, given again
Money from my first book, ₩1,000,000
Korea Food for the Hungry International, Kids Donor Club No. 6
Every won my book makes goes to someone who needs it more than I do. That is the deal I made with myself when I became a writer.
What comes next
My second book, The World Through My Head, comes out in 2027. All of its proceeds will be donated too. I will write here about where they go.
